What are the differences?
The MicroLearn and Learning Heroes course have been set up using two different methods giving the courses flexibility and diversity. There are several overlapping topics from both providers, and you are able to select what content best suits you. You may choose to use one or the other, or a combination of the two, or none at all! - The freedom is yours!
There are 2 key differences between each content type:
The Type of Activities
Each content type has a different set of activities that are used to track the users learning, and inform them of the correct information.
Learning Heroes
Learning Heroes is tracked exclusively through the SCORM activity under each topic. The SCORM activity contains a series of slides and videos followed by several questions also contained within the SCORM package. The content will give you with the correct information in order to be compliant and answer the questions correctly. Once you have achieved a passable score on the question section, the SCORM will output a 'Passed' or 'Complete' status to RoadMap which will then mark the user with a tick in the completion box to the right of the SCORM activity. There are also other activities, such as PDF documents (files) which offer further information to a user, under each topic. These activities are not tracked and can be completed at the users leisure.
MicroLearn
Although under each topic MicroLearn content is constructed of a SCORM activity, and a Quiz activity, all compliance is tracked exclusively through the Quiz activity. The idea behind this is that users browse through the SCORM activity in order to gain the correct information to answer the Quiz. The Quiz activities have been created to ensure that key areas of all SCORM are questioned. However, the Quiz activity allows for editing of existing questions. This will allow you to customise the questions to your organisation or needs.
The Content Styling
As both MicroLearn and Learning Heroes use SCORMs in the their courseware, but with different functions, it is important to remember which is which. Luckily, the two types of content appear very different!
Learning Heroes
The content from Learning Heroes has a cartoon style to them, and mainly uses videos and interactive buttons on some pages.
