What is Moodle?
Moodle is a learning platform designed to provide educators, administrators and learners with a single robust, secure and integrated system to create personalised learning environments. Moodle provides the most flexible tool-set to support both blended learning and 100% online courses. Configure Moodle by enabling or disabling core features, while easily integrating everything needed for a course using its complete range of built-in features.
Due to the software being primarily designed for Academic uses with Universities and Colleges, there will be some features that do not quite translate across to how we are using the system and we will try our best to inform you for what features will be the most beneficial to you.
The whole system itself works from the Moodle software, which means that every Course, Activity and area you will access on the system will be 90% Moodle.
Now what is the 10% and what is RoadMap?
The additional 10% of features and software that is not Moodle itself has been created by our team of in house Developers, of which RoadMap is 1 such additional feature that now exists on your Moodle platform. Some other examples are the additional Reporting capabilities that exist on the platform that is not a Moodle software default package, while also having other features like RoadMap Replay and many more.
So What is RoadMap?
RoadMap is a custom made plugin to the Moodle system that can be seen on the dashboard immediately when anyone logs into the system, the particular RoadMap area is the big white box area on the Dashboard page that houses the Banners, Text, Search bar, and Courses for users to access and complete. The area allows Course distribution to users by placing Courses into the RoadMap area for them to access from the Dashboard page.
The Manage Layout area for managing the Courses on the Dashboard as a Admin user can be found within:
Site Administration > Courses > RoadMap > Manage Layout
